Letters to the Editor Policy

Letters to the editor that respond to published content in the New Trier News are welcome for submission and publication. To submit a letter to the editor, email [email protected]. 

In order for a letter to be published, it must follow these guidelines: 

• Includes author’s full name
• Remains specific to the article it is responding to
• Contains information that is up-to-date and accurate
• Maintains respect for the New Trier News staff
• Argues a clear stance—avoid rambling 

Letters may be edited for grammar and AP Style. Any other necessary changes will be communicated to the letter’s author(s). 

Submitted letters will be published online within two days of receipt, as long as no changes are needed. Under most circumstances, letters will not be published in the print edition.
