Obituary Policy

Unless requested otherwise by the family of the deceased, any current student or staff member, or alumni of extraordinary significance to the school will receive an obituary from the New Trier News within a week of us becoming aware of the death.

The obituary will be concise and will include, at a minimum, the person’s name, dates of birth and death, major accomplishments, who survives them, wake and funeral information (if given permission from the family), and cause of death at the discretion of the editors-in-chief and advisers.
