Sexual violence refers to any sexual act or attempt to obtain a sexual act without the consent of the other person. According to the U.S. Education Department, sexual violence in high school aged young adults has been on the rise (over 50%) every year since 2015. The National Crime Victim Survey, administered by the Bureau of Justice, in 2019 found only 33.9% of sexual assaults were reported to law enforcements.
