In our January 17 editorial titled, “Subjective grades are far too susceptible to bias,” we made a claim that students in AP Lit Comp are not assessed equally. We would like to clarify that part of our argument. All English teachers, including those who teach AP Lit Comp, grade based on department-wide standards. AP Lit Comp teachers do have the ability to individually assign supplemental texts and some in-class essay prompts. All major assessments are standardized and graded collectively. We apologize for this misleading statement.
