On behalf of Erika’s Lighthouse Club, we’d like to thank Danielle Kurensky for her courage and perspective about talking about mental health.
Our club works to de-stigmatize talking about depression and other mental health challenges and to promote good mental health in our school and community. Danielle’s willingness to share her experience is a big first step in talking about mental health at our school. Her explanation of her symptoms, along with the various supports available are what students need to understand, like she said, “are not alone.”
