Football clinches conference at NT Homecoming game
November 2, 2016
After the monumental win against Maine South Oct. 7, the Trevians carried that excitement on to Glenbrook South for the Homecoming game last Friday. The most attended game of the year started with a bang as senior Max Rosenthal received a 75 yard touchdown throw from QB Clay Czyzynski. However, GBS came back quick to gain the lead at 14-13 early into the 2nd quarter.
This high scoring game was an intense battle with Cyzyznski running for a 50 yard touchdown soon after halftime, after the cheer team, dance team, and varsity boy’s basketball team all performed.
New Trier ended up winning its final home game by the score 38-28. With the win, the Trevians clinched the Central Suburban League South Championship and will move onto the playoffs, where expectations are high.
Since Coach Brian Doll’s revamp of the team, the Trevians have excelled with their best year coming to a close at the state quarter final round in 2014. However, after their first conference championship of the Doll era and their stunning win against Maine South, one can only image what the Trevs have in store for the postseason.
