The News takes home seven journalism awards
Staff takes top awards and several honorable mentions in state-wide contest
The New Trier News took 2 first place awards and several second and third place awards in their division for the Illinois Journalism Education Association Newspaper and Digital Media Contest.
Senior Co-Chief Editor Katy Pickens won first place for Best Humorous Commentary for “…. Ok boomer,” and senior illustrator Katia Tsytsarina placed first for her illustration “Deconstructing Democracy.”
The News itself was given honorable mentions in the categories of Best Website, Best Hybrid Publication and Best Overall Publication.
