GBS alumni, Iñaki Bascaran, goes missing after leaving River North bar

23 year old Iñaki Bascaran failed to come home after leaving a River North bar, Celeste  on Oct. 30 at 11:39 PM.

Bascaran’s roommates made contact with his family late Sunday morning when he failed to come home or make any contact. The police have been investigating his disappearance as of Sunday. On Monday, a private investigator was hired as well.

At 12:04 AM on Oct. 31, Bascaran FaceTimed his roommate and told him he was outside of a Walgreens and about to head home. It’s still unknown which Walgreens he was referring to. The walk between the bar and his Wrigleyville apartment is about 4.6 miles. His friends and family have been unable to contact him through his cell phone.

Iñaki is a caucasian male with light brown hair, green eyes, and medium build. He is around 5’ 9” and 165 pounds. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a long sleeve grey shirt, blue pants, and black vans, along with an Apple Watch. No charges have been made to any of his credit or debit cards.

The Bascaran family as well as some friends have created an Instagram account, webpage, and a GoFundMe in support of his search.  Local news outlets have also been covering the incident.

A prayer gathering at 800 Block of W Newport Ave, Chicago was held on Nov. 3.
