Presidential Candidates
Colin Hirschle (’27)
Why did you choose to run for president?
“I know a lot of the dudes that have been presidents in the past, and I ran for [Junior Class Chair] last year and lost, but I wanted to get a leadership role, and especially be that big of a leader in Tri-Ship to try to make the club a better place.”
What do you hope to achieve as president?
“Building off of the current and past presidents just to make Tri-Ship a more school-wide community and make fundraisers more accessible for all the students, in and out of Tri-Ship, and just spreading the word of the community of New Trier.”
How would you describe Tri-Ship?
“It is a brotherhood of guys that come together every Green Day and achieve set goals and work to make New Trier a more school-wide community and fundraise for people in need.”
Chase Marino (’27)
Why did you choose to run for president?
“I’m the Junior Class Chair right now which is the junior officer position. And I’ve kind of had a lot of role models in the club, Harrison and James, who are the President’s last years have been really good role models, and kind of want to give kids the same experience I had with James and Harrison, and kind of give back to them.”
What do you hope to achieve as president?
“To continue like all the great traditions we have. We’ve been around for 102 years, and we’ve just been continually growing. We set records and how much money we raised for the canned food drive and stuff like that. So kind of just build on traditions and also build kind of a bigger community and get everybody involved and create more friendships.”
How would you describe Tri-Ship?
“A word that we use in the club a lot is brotherhood and kind of just a community that you can go to anybody in the club for anything, you can give advice about anything, like schoolwork, socially, anything. And kind of, that’s brotherhood.”
Vice Presidential Candidates
The New Trier News reached out to Jenner Laden and did not receive a response.
William Pilant (’27)
Why did you choose to run for Vice President?
“I knew a lot of the people ahead of me, and they were all really good role models. So I kind of wanted to fill in their spot and be a good role model for the younger kids coming into the club and sort of be a guy that people can look up to.”
What do you hope to achieve as Vice President?
“As Vice President, I want to be a guy that creates a welcoming community inside of the club and outside of the club. I sort of want people to just look around and find someone that they can look up to ask questions and not be afraid to speak to.”
How would you describe Tri-Ship?
“It’s an all-boys club that looks to help the community and sort of make the school a better place.”
